Impact Ministries and the Lindale Benefit
Impact has made a real difference for the people whose lives we’ve touched. Our distribution center provides food and other necessities to over 2500 families every month. Five days a week, we provide a hot meal for our homeless, along with showers, social assistance, and, of course, Bible studies. Our VBS program serves as a calm, safe, and loving environment for over 520 children every summer whose worlds are full of chaos and danger. Most of those same children take part in our reading program, maintaining and improving their crucial reading skills over the summer break. We also provide services and support to a great many people struggling with addiction —either their own or that of someone they love—through AA and Al Anon meetings, counseling, a residential recovery program, and other resources. We also reach out to those recently released from prison through our involvement in the Forgotten Sinners program. Impact has also embraced a number of seniors in assisted living, offering them a sense of greater community and much needed support. Most of our ministries serve both English and Spanish speakers, allowing us to reach more of those who are in need. All of these ministries, in addition to our regular Sunday services in English and Spanish and many Bible classes throughout the week, have begun to exceed the physical capacity of our current location, to the point that nearly every space in our existing facilities serves double duty on a regular basis.
